About Hope for the Future

Hope for the Future is a grassroots community organization based in Kiyanda Village, in Bugiri District, Uganda, founded and led by Malagala Bakaali. For more than twelve years, the organization has worked to support vulnerable children and elderly caregivers (affectionately known as “Jajas,” meaning grandparents) by providing practical assistance, education support, and a safe, loving environment.

Many of the children served by the program are orphaned or come from families facing significant economic hardship. Hope for the Future Uganda helps ensure that these children can remain in school, receive basic necessities, and grow up with dignity, encouragement, and hope for a brighter future.

The organization is built on a simple but powerful belief: that every child deserves an opportunity to learn, thrive, and create a better life for themselves and their community.
